So how much by the hour in Canada ladies? A number would be awesome. I've been asked by my agency to provide a quote, and I have no clue what to respond. Thanks so much in advance.

I did search Google, but didn't find anything in Canada. Thank you for your links, they are very informative. | | | jotranslator Israel Local time: 18:25 Russian to English + ...
Those rates are quite an eye-opener given that I was quoted a rate of $0.01 per word for a proofreading job (checking a translation against a source text) this week...

We are not getting into the same-old, same-old "rates are so low!"-discussion, right? Best, Nicole Hi, I came across your answer (in 2017!) as I was looking for ways to charge better for my proofreading/editing/reviewing projects. I used to charge a minimum of 25% of the translation value for all three types and then add a surcharge depending on the number and type of changes I had to make. I like how you calculate the rate. Clients can have a rough idea, even before the project begins, of how much they would have to pay. Thanks! | | | Thayenga Germany Local time: 17:25 Member (2009) English to German + ...

[Edited at 2013-09-09 21:55 GMT] A little math will answer your question. Only you know how much you need to make an hour in order to pay all your bills and financial obligations, to lead a comfortable life and have some money laid aside for the unexpected. | | | Proofreading rates | Sep 21, 2018 |
It depends on the proofreaders & editors what he/she will be charges for the job of proofreading either they charge with hours or words. As I am thinking the standard rates for the proofreading is $30–35/hour or if I am talking about the standard rate per words are 0.03$ - 0.07$. | | | In fact it is illegal in many countries to set standard rates | Sep 21, 2018 |
Of course we can give guidelines and advice, but there are many factors to take into account. And anything that looks like a price-fixing syndicate is illegal in many countries. So in fact there is no standard rate.

Proofreading por hora | Jun 29, 2022 |
Alguém tem ideia de quanto cobrar "Proofreading por hora"? Na verdade, eu costumo cobrar 50% da palavra traduzida e não tenho base por hora.
