I am new to subtitling and have been asked to provide dialog subtitles for two 45 min films. Which software do you recommend? Also, are there courses/workshops online you could suggest?
Thanks for your help!

...free ones? The others are (very) expensive.
I worked years with Subtitle Worshop. Easy.
Now, if you don't even know what software is OK, it means you have no experience whatsoever in subtitling field.
Please, don't even think about doing the job.
Good luck.
