Ciao, sto traducendo un testo di narrativa dove il protagonista viene ripreso per una bravata che ha fatto.

“Why would you pull shit like that? Weren’t you out with XX?” The mention of my teammate causes remorse to blanket me like a sheet of armor. Fuck, I feel sick. My stomach churns in a bad way.

Mi verrebbe da dire "mi fa sentire in colpa facendomi innalzare un muro"... ma vorrei mantenere l'immagine dell'armatura che c'è in originale. Come potrei renderla? Grazie.

mi avviluppa e pesa/mi opprime come un'armatura


Explanation:
Anche se in inglese non è così, sarei per separare l'elemento "to blanket" dala metafora riferita all'armatura.
Blanket dà l'idea di avvolgere, avviluppare, mentre all'armatura dare più il senso di peso e oppressione.
Secondo come così si ottiene un effetto leggermente più epico e le sensazioni potrebbero risultare meglio associate.
