Explanation:
the "open balance" is what is currently owed at some point in time - it doesn't necessarily mean that the payment is due at that point in time.

So "open balance settlement" will mean paying whatever is the "currrent amount of credit given to the buyer" no matter if the payment is overdue or is due at some later date.
