French term or phrase: mailles (here)
A text about writing an opera about Daphne. Context: "... un opéra où il serait question de métamorphoses ; celle de Daphné certes, mais aussi celle de la parole en chant, celle du chant en polyphonie, celle de la polyphonie dans les mailles de l'électronique.". What is the meaning of "mailles" here? Is this a term used in electronic music? Thanks in advance for any help.

Actually I think it may be a technical term:
Node is a point in a network where two or more circuit elements are connected. Loop: Any close path in the circuit can be called a loop. Mesh: If the loop in the circuit does not enclose any other loop inside it then that loop can be called a mesh.

interweaving

Explanation:

The Cryonic Chants, a concert composed by Societas Raffaello Sanzio and Scott
Gibbons, is a subtle interweaving of electronic music, nonsensical sequences sung by
four women in black dresses and saccades of video images in negative.

Polyphonic – Musical texture is formed by the interweaving of several musical lines at once. On a polyphonic synthesizer several keys may be played at the same time.

Polyphony
polyphony, music whose texture is formed by the interweaving of several melodic lines. The lines are independent but sound together harmonically.

Interesting! I don't know but I see that it might have something to do with Kirchhoff's laws on the voltage and currents running through a circuit: https://www.elprocus.com/kirchhoffs-laws-working-formula/
