Here's my rendering:
With the over-exploitation of networks while making conference calls galore and other Skype aperitifs (?), numerous reports, such as those from the think tank, The Shift Project,{2} on digital pollution would have managed to educate the general public on the need for the sparing use of rare metals.

social drinks over Skype
Explanation:
It's the "coronapéro" - ie going out for a drink while not going out. Maybe "conference calls galore and even after-work drinks over Skype"

agree  Peter Shortall: Or "on Skype", the idea being that these are Skype calls/chats during which participants drink together (or should I say separately). Paul, you might want to rethink "over-exploitation", as "exploitation" is a faux ami here...

neutral  Tony M: Not so sure, Wendy: over here, a great many people have indeed been having a little get-together at apéritif time where they can all toast each other.

-> OK, you know best, but I felt the Skype chats were the "apero". (No accents on my phone!)

-> Why not ?? I mentioned apéritif as well. People do travel. Dictionaries are available. This french term is well known. 'https://www.francetravelguide.com/french-aperitifs.html

neutral  Julie Barber: This would never been used in this setting in the UK at least. "Aperitifs" might be used for a more formal occasion, yet "apero" would be unheard of

apéritifs over Skype

Explanation:
Bonjour,
Your translation is good. Apéro is a shorthand for apéritif, which exists in English as a loanword. I agree with Emmanuella but feel that based on the context the plural form should be used; you can't say "and other apéritif".
Bonne chance
