Explanation:
El juramento estimatorio es un medio de prueba, a la vez que se configura en un requisito de la demanda, que le exige al demandante demostrar la indemnización solicitada. Dispone el Código General del Proceso, que tal juramento es prueba del valor pretendido siempre que su cuantía no sea objetada por la parte contraria.

La falta de juramento estimatorio imposibilita la reclamación del demandado, salvo que acredite bajo juramento la estimación de las pretensiones, dentro de los cinco (5) días siguientes a la notificación de requerimiento.

  -> Thanks, Chris. Sworn appraisal has in fact been recycled and rehashed for the last 60-odd years by every legal dictionary since Sells and Louis A. Robb, though juramento connotes an oral version.

Juramento Estimatorio en nuestro ordenamiento Jurídico Colombiano
El juramento estimatorio en nuestro ordenamiento jurídico colombiano se encuentra en la ley 1564 de 2012 ó C.G.P. [Código General del Proceso] en su artículo 206 del cual se habla a continuación:
Artículo 206. Juramento estimatorio. Quien pretenda el reconocimiento de una indemnización, compensación o el pago de frutos o mejoras, deberá estimarlo razonadamente bajo juramento en la demanda o petición correspondiente, discriminando cada uno de sus conceptos. Dicho juramento hará prueba de su monto mientras su cuantía no sea objetada por la parte contraria dentro del traslado respectivo. Solo se considerará la objeción que especifique razonadamente la inexactitud que se le atribuya a la estimación.
Formulada la objeción el juez concederá el término de cinco (5) días a la parte que hizo la estimación, para que aporte o solicite las pruebas pertinentes.
Aun cuando no se presente objeción de parte, si el juez advierte que la estimación es notoriamente injusta, ilegal o sospeche que haya fraude, colusión o cualquier otra situación similar, deberá decretar de oficio las pruebas que considere necesarias para tasar el valor pretendido
