a non-privy company or public body > that is not strictly bound by the judgment Explanation: It would help to know who is a terecera and why feminine as an individual or partnership, company - sociedad or empresa - or public body. The corporate status would explain who not joining or joined in the 'amparo' and, thus, not privy to judgment. Example sentence(s):

(he/she) appears/intervenes in these amparo proceedings as a third party (…) Explanation: Mexican law, quite difficult for me as a Spaniard, therefore my middle confidence level, but this is my try. Possible translation: (he/she) appears/intervenes in these amparo proceedings as a third party, strictly speaking not directly involved in them/said proceedings, and in this condition (he/she) seeks to protect the (…) Let´s analize the source step by step: 1) Ostentarse: In my reading this corresponds to “intervene” in the proceedings. 2) Juicio de amparo: Amparo proceedings. You don´t need to translate “amparo” as it is used (and understood) as such in English. However, if you don´t feel comfortable with “amparo”, you can use “extraordinary constitutional appeal”, which is long, true, but comprehensible to everyone. And this is what “amparo” means in Mexican law. 3) Tercera extraña a juicio: Third party not directly involved in the proceedings, BUT (bit “but”) indirectly affected by them. Please see definition below. 4) En sentido estricto: I believe this expression has no particular meaning strictly speaking :-). It just means that: Strictly speaking. See reference below. About “amparo” in Mexican law: https://www.loc.gov/law/foreign-news/article/mexico-new-ampa... Global Legal Monitor Mexico: New Amparo Law is Enacted (Apr. 30, 2013) On April 2, 2013, the Mexican Executive Branch officially published a Decree in the Diario Oficial of the Federation (the official gazette) promulgating the Amparo Law, which regulates articles 103 and 107 of the Constituton. The Decree repealed the Amparo Law that had been published in the Diario Oficial on January 10, 1936. Amparo, is an extraordinary constitutional appeal, which may be filed in federal court, by Mexicans and by foreigners. It is often referred to as a “constitutional protection lawsuit,” which is basically governed by articles 103 and 107 of the Federal Constitution. The amparo proceedings may be used for several purposes: 1) as a defense of the individual guarantees provided in the Constitution; 2) against unconstitutional laws; 3) to review the legality of judicial decisions; 4) against final administrative decisions, awards, and resolutions affecting private parties; or 5) to protect communal right of an agrarian nature. ( -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 hrs (2021-02-27 18:32:22 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- About tercero/-a extraño a juicio (see please “en sentido estricto” also here): https://www.tribunalesagrarios.gob.mx/ta/?p=3330#:~:text=En ... TERCERO EXTRAÑO A JUICIO. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 day 17 hrs (2021-03-01 09:39:32 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Again Mexico, about “en sentido estricto”: https://suprema-corte.vlex.com.mx/vid/779606293 Jurisprudencia Ejecutoria num. In other words, “strictly speaking” or “in a strict sense” (your approach) refers in this context exclusively or strictly to the “personas extrañas al juicio” (people not directly involved in the proceedings) and nobody else. |

a third party on trial in a strict sense Explanation: It seems to be in connection with a form of constitutional protection. 'The present judgement shows a third party on a stringent trial, in such a way which seeks to protect the person referred.' -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 days 4 hrs (2021-03-01 20:00:08 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- https://www.deepl.com/translator#es/en/Se ostenta en el presente juicio de amparo como tercera extra%C3%B1a en estricto sentido y con tal car%C3%A1cter busca proteger el referido. "In the present amparo proceedings it's acting as a party stranger in the strict (stringent) sense of the word, and in that capacity it seeks to protect the aforementioned." A stringent sense is strictly controlled or enforced. Instead, an end result is incorporated into the affected entitlements, which are the assets or goods of litigation (the dispute or lawsuit).
