(1) Professional guidelines expanded to address rates

The Professional guidelines for translation service providers have been expanded, as part of the recent changes being made to the ProZ.com job posting system, to include the following line:
"[Professionals] set their rates at levels that allow them to deliver, on an ongoing basis, the quality levels that their clients require"
Over 1,900 translators have endorsed this set of guidelines already.

(2) 7th international ProZ.com conference set for Prague in October

The 7th international ProZ.com conference will take place in Prague this year, on the 2nd and 3rd of October.

(3) Job activity at new highs after down year

Job activity at ProZ.com has been up over the first quarter of 2010, after 2009, in which job postings fell in relation to numbers in the previous year. An all-time high in job posting numbers was reached in March of this year.

(4) Changes to job posting system well-received

The changes to the ProZ.com job posting system, announced at the end of March, have so far been well-received. 95% of members generally approve of the changes being made. Three updates have been posted so far, with favorable feedback from members.

A new channel for feedback and ideas on how to improve ProZ.com has been introduced.
Members can propose new suggestions, and vote for those they would like to see at ProZ.com. Several suggestions submitted through this new feature have already been implemented, and others are in the pipeline to be developed.
To participate, just look for the "Ideas" link at the top right of any page on ProZ.com.
