Personal included, I can understand why some would send a large amount of emails every day.
But if we're talking about professional emails only, why would anyone send on AVERAGE more than 20 a day?

"On average, how many e-mails do you send per day?" would be more grammatically correct.

Anywhere from zero to thirty. Usually around nine.

Many of them are replies to questions on professional discussion lists.

(my own), the count of daily received and answered emails is closer to few hundred... (few hundred received and few hundred answered...)
