English to Spanish: Abducción General field: Social Sciences
Source text - English "From its beginnings the methodology of Grounded Theory has suffered from an 'inductivist self misunderstanding' entailed by some parts of the Discovery book. Although this inductivism plays a limited role in research practice of many Grounded Theory studies (including those of the founding fathers) it has often lead to confusion especially among novices who draw their basic methodological knowledge from text books" (KELLE, 2005, p.24). [1]
The fact that original GT has split into two directions (differing in the emphasis on the meaning of prior theoretical knowledge for research) became evident in STRAUSS' Qualitative Analysis for Social Scientists (1987), and certainly was clear in Basics of Qualitative Research (STRAUSS & CORBIN, 1990). In both texts it was argued that theoretical pre-knowledge flows into the data' s interpretation while GLASER insists that the codes and categories emerge directly from the data. The differences were made public in GLASER 1992 (see also GLASER, 2002). The differences have been the object of heated debates (KELLE, 1994; KENDALL, 1999; MILLER & FREDERICKS, 1999; STRÜBING, 2004) in the scientific literature since then.

Source text - English "Balance of payments crisis" is a politically charged phrase. But a country can often sustain a current account deficit for many years without its economy suffering, because any deficit is likely to be tiny compared with the country's national income and wealth. Indeed, if the deficit is due to firms importing technology and other capital goods from abroad, which will improve their productivity, the economy may benefit. A deficit that has to be financed by the public sector may be more problematic, particularly if the public sector faces limits on how much it can raise taxes or borrow or has few financial reserves. For instance, when the Russian government failed to pay the interest on its foreign debt in August 1998 it found it impossible to borrow any more money in the international financial markets. Nor was it able to increase taxes in its collapsing economy or to find anybody within Russia willing to lend it money. That truly was a balance of payments crisis.
In the early years of the 21st century, economists started to worry that the United States would find itself in a balance of payments crisis. Its current account deficit grew to over 5% of its GDP, making its economy increasingly reliant on foreign credit.

Source text - English Listed below are the various classifications of medications used to treat symptoms associated with autism.
• Antipsychotics – also known as neuroleptics or “major” tranquilizers, these are sometimes used to treat severe aggression, self-injurious behavior, agitation, or insomnia. Side effects may include tardive dyskinesia (an involuntary muscular twitching which may become irreversible), tremors, stiffness, and sleepiness. Medications include Mellaril, Haldol, Thorazine, and Risperdal.
• Anticonvulsants – given to control seizures. Side effects may include drowsiness, gum swelling, negative behavioral and cognitive performance. Medications include Tegretol, Depakote, and Dilantin.
• Anti-anxiety – sometimes used to relieve “nerves” or anxiousness. Medications vary in effectiveness for long-term anxiety. Side effects associated with Valium and Librium may include increased behavior problems. Some antidepressants are used to treat chronic anxiety. They include Trofranil, Elavil, and Paxil.
• Antidepression, antimania – these medications are used to treat disorders such as depression, compulsive behaviors, mania, panic, or anxiety. Lithium and Depakote are sometimes prescribed for bipolar (manic-depressive) disorders. Anafranil and Prozac are sometimes prescribed for compulsive behavior. Most antidepressants take two to three weeks before effectiveness is noted. Side effects may include agitation, insomnia, decreased appetite, and hyperactivity.
• Beta blockers – these medications are usually used to control blood pressure, but are sometimes given to individuals to decrease aggression or hyperactivity caused by a rush of adrenaline. The beta blockers help to prevent the adrenalin rush and allow the individual to control impulsive reactions. Medications include Inderal and Clonidine/Catapres. They may cause drowsiness, irritability, and lowered blood pressure.
• Opiate blocker – some researchers theorize that self-injurious behaviors may cause the brain to release endorphins (chemicals which produce an opiate-like “high”), which may cause the individual to continue the self-injury in order to feel good. Opiate blockers act to block the pleasurable sensation and allow the individual to feel the pain. As a result, self-injury may diminish. Sometimes, a sedating effect has been noted. Naltrexone/Trexan is an opiate blocker. These drugs may also improve socialization and general well-being.
• Sedatives – are given to individuals who have difficulty sleeping. Often medication is gradually withdrawn when normal sleep patterns are established. If the medication is not suitable for an individual it can cause excitation or sleeplessness. Chloral Hydrate, Noctec, and Benadryl are examples of sedatives.
• Stimulants – sometimes prescribed for hyperactivity and attention or concentration problems. Side effects may include decreased appetite, sadness, tantrums, and hyperactivity after the medication wears off. Ritalin and Dexedrine are stimulants.

I am a translator/interpreter from English and German to Spanish, my native language. I also studied law, but this knowledge mainly has supported my work in translating legal documents and interpreting law-related discussions within the business environment during the almost two decades. During this time, I worked as a translator and assistant for the management of a German automotive company, thus acquiring a vast experience in technical and commercial issues. I am familiar with computing systems and applications, and during several years I translated for a site dedicated to ID security systems. I am not an IT person, but I am familiar with computing systems and applications in general. I write and translate literature, including literature for children. For me, communicating with the customer is essential, so that the final result not only comes from the translation as such, but also from the details and agreements based upon the desires and objectives of the client.
