Bio

The gist

I am a linguist (as in, MA in linguistics) with a background in biology and research experience in both fields. Avid reader, gamer, enthusiastic language learner, and curious writer committed to thorough work.

Particularly comfortable with projects focused on:

  • immigration
  • language policy & pedagogy
  • endangered languages
  • agroecology
  • climate change
  • biodiversity & conservation
  • ecology & zoology
  • indie games

Background details

On the biology side, you get a translator with research experience in biogeography, ecology, and evolution, as well as neuroscience labs. Big fan of good old field work biology and citizen science, too.

On the linguistics end of things, you get a translator with active consultancy experience in phonetic transcription and TTS proofreading. Plus, you'd be working with a linguist with research experience in in projects ranging from analysis of archival material to critical linguistic anthropology. I also worked with corpora and discourse analysis for my thesis.

In addition, I started a science and linguistics communication blog, both for writing practice and for highlighting some of the cool research I find on my casual Google Scholar expeditions.
