Spanish term
fui consciente de lo difícil
It's a translation of a document about journalism. What way will be correct I'm aware of how difficult was....?
Here is the full paragraph:
En mis años de estudios universitarios, en la carrera de periodista, fui consciente de lo difícil que era aprender a entender el español, cada regla ortográfica y gramatical era una nueva búsqueda del por qué y para que existían y que tanto debería aplicarla a la vida diaria y que tanto no.

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.
How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:
An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)
A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).
Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.
When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.
* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

During my time studying at the university, as a journalism major, I was aware of how difficult it was to learn to understand Spanish, every orthographic and grammatical rule became a new search for the reasons why they existed and in what ways I should or should not apply it to daily life.
"I was aware" also works. I think it depends on what information is given in the rest of the story.

Mr. Penn, Thanks for your answer. My wife is an English professor and also an English specialist and she said to me that "it" should not be after "was" Is this grammatically correct? We are keeping the English translation similar to the original Spanish because the essay writer has many mistakes and we don't want to have problems with a difficult Spanish-English editor. Thanks. |
