oui je sais pour le "clock signal" mais justement cela aurait pu être une définition de celui-ci. Mais sans plus de contexte on ne peut faire que des suppositions.

@ Virginie A bit unlikely, really: a 'timing-related signal' is by no means certainly a 'clock signal' — in fact rather UNlikely, inasmuch as it would probably have been called... a clock signal!
And there's nothing in the source text to suggest there is any element of 'synchronisation' going on here; sadly, Asker has not provided sufficient context for us to be able to know exactly what the situation is, and hence the best translation: all we know is that this is a signal that is in some way related to the timing of a gate or gates. Anything more than that can only be conjecture.

@ Asker We certainly need more context to resolve the ambiguity of 'gate' here!
Do you have any discussion of the type of semiconductor devices being used? Do you have any mention of 'gating' of any other kind?
We really do need to see the complete sentence, preferably paragraph in which this is being used.
