SAMPLING POINTS
Both vessel and shore tanks are fitted with sampling points, which can differ depending on the size of the tank. Typically, tanks are fitted with three sampling points that are equivalent to upper, middle and lower spot sample points as defined in the manual sampling standards.
An additional sampling point is also usually installed after the outlet of the cargo pump. The importance of this sampling point is that it allows samples to be taken while the product is being recirculated and for refrigerated products this is the only way that samples can be taken due to the absence of pressure in the tank.
