My first concern is about rags. ¿Se trata de "trapos" realmente? Y por otra parte no estoy segura de que sean carpetas de hilo (me imagino que sean centros de mesa y tejidos similares) y si se llaman así en los distintos países de habla hispana.
O sea, estoy perdida. Les agradezco a todos sus sugerencias y comentarios.

I make several of these rugs every year. The warp (urdimbre) is heavy cotton yarn, the weft (trama) is made of strips of cloth that comes from worn-out clothing and/or from new cloth that is left after pattern pieces have been cut out of it to make garments.

And yes, I put these rugs on the floor and walk on them. The dogs love to sleep on the rugs made from strips of old wool coats. Rag rugs are typically 30 to 40 inches wide. People who carpet whole rooms with them sew several long rugs together to cover the desired space.
