: Yes, and I like Ob Gulf rather than Gulf of Ob, Sea of Okhotsk, Sea of Japan (BIG controvery about that one!), the less "of's" in English the better! ('cept Gulf of Mexico - always exceptions, keeps life interesting!)

: 'left shore' is enough IMHO. 'Obskaya Guba' I consider as a proper name here & it's beter to put it this way to avoid any misunderstanding during oral communication.
