this is referring to a pack of salad. I have difficulty with the word cercano meaning close, friendly, familiar, (rather than an occasional delicacy). would be greatful for any suggestions

A bright or lighter color also makes the product stand out in the shelves, or seem nearer, at hand. Perhaps you can check if that is the intended objective.

Strange way to refer to a salad but I would use familiar in this case.

personally relevant

hard to find an adjective I agree - I read it as meaning (not just nicer looking but also) easier to relate to (because less exclusive / downmarket..., whatever. etc.)
