Spanish term

matricula vs partida registral

Spanish to English Law/Patents Aerospace / Aviation / Space Aircraft purchase contract/ Peru

Hi and thanks for help

For (i) I have translated "request the cancellation of the aircraft registration, if applicable"

However, I do not know what "la partida registral" is, and how it differs from "la matricula"

Does anyone know?

Thanks!

registration vs registration entry

See the Peruvian government website below regarding legislation of aircraft, where it mentions:

So based on that, I think this is the way to go:

“(i) request THE AIRCRAFT’s registration to be cancelled [or deregistered], ...
(ii) request THE AIRCRAFT’s registration entry to be closed, ...”

Hope this helps :)

Or you could differentiate the second option slightly more by using "registry entry" rather than "registration entry".
Peer comment(s):

agree Charles Davis : Great reference. Yes, "partida" evidently means "entry" here (as it quite often does), and "registry entry" is a good expression to use, I think. The matrícula, OTOH, is essentially a kind of licence, something issued.

Thanks, Charles. Literally seconds after posting, "registry entry" occurred to me, and I definitely think it's a better option for "partida registral". Cheers :)
neutral philgoddard : Top marks for research, but I think anyone looking at this will wonder what is the difference between a registration and a registration entry.//I did read your whole answer, and my comment still applies.

If you care to read my note and comment above, Phil, you will see that I suggested marking that difference by using "registry entry" for (ii). I made this suggestion 2 mins after my original post. Information that is available for all to see.
agree Rick Larg : To clear up any possible doubts, one could put 'aircraft registration number' for 'matricula'.

Yes, good idea. Thanks, Rick.

Registration vs Registration certificate

a partida is a document such as a birth/marriage/death CERTIFICATE
The Registration is the entry in the legal entries of aircraft registrations.
