Spanish term

superficies privativas o locales

Spanish to English Bus/Financial Architecture
From a lease agreement for retail space (Spain). This part is about the measurement of the premises:

La medición del Local será realizada entre exteriores en relación con los paramentos de la fachada, y al eje medianero de los muros o tabiques que separan el Local de otras superficies privativas o locales.

particular or local areas? TIA!!

Sherry Godfrey (asker) Jul 29, 2010:
Yes, I have been translating "local" as "premises". In my haste I saw it as an adjective for "superficies". Thanks for pointing that out.
philgoddard Jul 29, 2010:
And you do realise that 'local' in Spanish doesn't mean 'local' in English? You suggested 'local areas', which is wrong.
Sherry Godfrey (asker) Jul 29, 2010:
It is in relation to a shop in a shopping centre.

private areas or business units (or stores, places)

Mi sugerencia. Since locales is not defined and the context does not indicate the type, it is difficult to defined the right term.
