II. Network Services and Supporting Logical Infrastructure
A) Background and Motivation
What is the "logical infrastructure?"
The logical infrastructure refers to the way that the electronic and physical components of a communication network are configured and the services this configuration delivers.
A network must deliver a coherent and reliable set of services. The types of services delivered, and the level of reliability provided, depend on the design and implementation of the logical infrastructure.
(What does that paragraph mean? An illustration might be a campus area network that is pieced together over time from scraps of cable and various mixes of routers and bridges--this net will most likely end up delivering unreliable service, and be inflexible in case of new developments.)

logic infrastructure
What this really refers to is the architecture of the network and its components. All integrated systems follow a "logic" in their setup that is dictated by security, services, and other needs. Also, the underlying logic is wired by the IP addresses assigned to the different componets (routers, switches, severs, etc.)
