Can you believe it? I have spent the last 10 years of my life eating this stuff every time I go out and am at a loss now that I have to translate it seriously. Perhaps there is no "real" translation? Can anyone shed some insight onto this most common of tapas?

this is the common denomination here in canada, especially for greek and italian restaurants... i'm sure as far as my geographical area is concerned, but i don't know if that'll do for you. good luck!

Maybe too late, but this is another option. I'm sure in UK we use "deep fried" more than "battered"
