Thanks in advance.

Sandra Meneaud (asker) Mar 25:
Yes, there are such things as 'edge gauges', so it definitely could be, especially as this section is talking about other kinds of gauges. Thanks Phil!
philgoddard Mar 25:
So could it be 'edge gauge'?
Sandra Meneaud (asker) Mar 25:
Here's an explanation in Spanish: https://metrologia-adncp.blogspot.com/2011/03/i5-patrones-de...

Sandra Meneaud (asker) Mar 25:
That's a good point, I should tell you what I've already found out. In this case, despite a lot of searching, I can't find any references to 'edge/border/standards', although I will keep looking. Patrón also means 'gauge', as in 'bloque patrón' (gauge blocks) so this might be also be some kind of gauge.
I've seen this type of gauge, that might be close, but I'm not entirely convinced:

Form Gauge
These are the types of gauges that are designed to check the profile of objects. Packs of blades featuring convex and concave circular profiles are known as radius gauges. They are used to measure the corners as well as radii of grooves
philgoddard Mar 24:
Context Patrón means something like standard - this is about standard measurements, objects such as rulers against which other objects are measured.

Cantos means edges, and extremos is ends.

It's really helpful if you provide background information when you post your question, telling us what you know so far.
