agree Enrique Espinosa : Se refiere a bloques estructurales (en geología) los altos se llaman pilares, y las "cubetas" son fosas o cuencas, en buen español por supuesto

LOs altos estructurales se llaman pilares, y lo que le dicen aquí cubetas (que me parece horroroso y un insulto al idioma y a la geología) son cuencas o fosas. La traducción más adecuada en este caso es horst (pilar) y graben (fosa o cuenca) porque se trata de términología de Geología Estructural
