the problem is that it's a bit general and doesn't deal with the "concurrencia" part - I would go for something like "thank you for ensuring that the event was so well-attended", but there are lots of options!

Good point, Ormiston. If the asker knows from the context that they did not actually attend, then this answer would not be appropriate.

Thanks for your input. It seems many other native speakers do not agree with you, although I do think something along the lines of Edward's suggestion of "...event has been so well-attended" might be a better choice in this instance.
