El artículo trata sobre la cirugía de una malformación congénita: vena cava superior izquierda asociada a dilatación del seno coronario.

Si bien los resultados con este procedimiento son satisfactorios el seno coronario así reparado persiste como un **resalto o escalón por encima de la válvula mitral** y el área mitral aún permanece oculta en un porcentaje variable por el remanente del seno coronario.

p.s.

For the record, I would avoid "protrusion" as I did not discover it on any cardiology site, hence my suggestion of "protruding part/section"

but overhang,protuberance/bulge

would fit just as well :-)
