Dear all,

it's the first time after many years translating with Trados that I have a big progect with all Notepad files. Is it possibile to translate them with Trados? I have tried to open one file with TagEditor but with no positive result. I receive the following errore message:

(80003): TagEditor is unable to open this document because the file type is not recognised.

Can you help?

Thanks in advance,

Antonia

I just tried to open a .txt file with PageMaker Tagged predefined file type and it seems it works...

Anyway, at worst you could try to paste the text into Word, process as doc file and then export back into Notepad?

"save as" option in Notepad
You could chose RTF or html

looks like you have this option

The first thing you should do when working in Notepad is save your page as HTML. This will save you time and trouble later.

Click on "File" and then "Save As"
Navigate to the folder you want to save in
Change the "Save As Type" drop-down menu to "All Files (*.*)"
Name your file pets.htm (or any other name)
As with the directory name, alw

Thank you Jun 10, 2009

Dear All,

thank you for all reaplies and sorry for my late answer.

Fortunately in the end the agency sent me Excel files, which was much better becasue I had ca. 40/50 Notepad files to translate.

Thanks again,

Antonia
