About me:

I have dedicated my working life to assisting people to communicate better.  I'm fluent in both English and Spanish - I'm a native Australian English speaker, born and raised in a small town in Tasmania, Australia, and I have 20+ years of experience with Spanish language and cultures in Latin America.

I work primarily as a conference and community interpreter between English and Spanish. My experience has been wide-ranging - I have interpreted for politicians, international athletes, farmers, Aboriginal elders, tour guides, and world experts in fields ranging from public health to engineering. I regularly provide interpreting services to law courts, both in Victoria and interstate, and hospitals all over Melbourne, assisting the Spanish-speaking community to access justice and essential health services, and I'm proud of this work. 

As a Spanish>English translator for over 10 years, I've worked in a diverse range of subject areas, including legal translation, medical translation and translation of educational content. I'm a NAATI-certified translator in Australia and I'm authorised to translate documents for Australian government bodies. My life experiences and interests have also equipped me with broad subject-area knowledge in content relating to music, equestrian sports and tourism.

This diverse professional work has made me highly flexible and adaptable, and I have developed excellent research skills. As a certified professional, I have CPD requirements and I regularly participate in professional development activities. I also use technology and CAT/CAI tools to provide the best possible service to my clients. 

I also have over 10 years' experience teaching adults, previously English as a Second Language, and currently, I train conference interpreters and deliver workshops for those new to the profession. I'm a creative, dedicated and adaptable teacher, and I enjoy seeing my students progress and succeed and mentoring them in the early years of their careers.

I’m currently available for short- and long-term translation and interpreting projects and interpreter training facilitation. I particularly love working in my personal areas of interest, which include the arts, gender issues, the law, and the environment.
