Source text - English Among the latest weapons designed by the US military is a sandwich which has been designed to stay fresh for up to three years, according to a report in this month's New Scientist.
The "indestructible" sandwich will be capable of surviving airdrops, and extreme climates, remaining fresh for up to three years at 26 °C, or for six months at 38 °C (just over body temperature).
The "pocket" sandwich has been designed as a meal that can be eaten by US forces while on the move, and is an addition to the current "Meal, Ready-to-Eat" (MRE) rations available to the US army.
"The water activity of the different sandwich components needs to complement each other," said Michelle Richardson, project officer at the US Army Soldier Systems Center in Natick, Massachusetts. "If the water activity of the meat is too high you might get soggy bread."
Researchers used fillings such as pepperoni and chicken and added substances called humectants, which prevent water leaking from the ingredients.
The sandwiches are then sealed, without pasteurisation, in laminated plastic pouches that also include sachets of oxygen-scavenging chemicals. A lack of oxygen helps prevent the growth of yeast, mould and bacteria.
Soldiers who tried the pepperoni and barbecue-chicken pocket sandwiches have found them "acceptable". The researchers are now planning to extend the menu to pocket pizzas, as well as cream-filled bagels, breakfast burritos and even peanut-butter sandwiches.

Removing nits
If you receive a notice from the school asking you to remove the nits, you should do the following:

• Comb through each tuft of hair with a nit comb: For short hair: gently scrape the scalp with the comb and slide it along the hair from the roots to the ends.
For long hair: take a tuft of hair, 2 cm wide. Using the nit comb, comb through hair in the opposite direction (towards the scalp), and then comb through normally (from the roots to the ends).
Tufts of hair can be separated with hair clips or rubber bands, which should be discarded after use.
• Soak the nit comb in hot water after running it through each tuft of hair.
• To remove a nit which is resistant to the nit comb, use fingernails or eyebrow tweezers, sliding the nit along the length of the hair.
Washing personal belongings
Risk of infestation through contact with personal belongings is minimal, but if necessary, follow these steps:
• Treat personal belongings (bedclothes, combs, hairbrushes, hats, caps and other accessories) that are used on a regular basis by the infested person using one of the following methods:
• Soak belongings in head lice medication for 5 to 10 minutes.

1. SCOPE OF SERVICES:
XYZ shall provide ABC SA with technical advice and technological assistance and assessment in order to enable the latter to construct a new premise and modernize the existing plant in Florida.
2. TERM
This contract shall become effective as from the date of registration with the application authority and remain in force until the time at which technical assistance shall have been fully provided.
3. REMUNERATION AND TERMS OF PAYMENT

4. CONFIDENTIALITY CLAUSE

5. FORCE MAJEURE
In no case shall failure or omission by either party to carry out any of the terms or conditions stated herein give rise to any claim against the party in question or be deemed a breach of this agreement if such failure or omission arises from any cause reasonably beyond the control of that party.
6. INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR STATUS:
XYZ being an independent contractor, it shall be full and solely responsible for its personnel for all legal duties.
7. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION:
It is hereby agreed that if any dispute arises hereunder, the NY Legislation shall apply for construction purposes.
8. NOTICES
Any and all notices required hereunder shall be given in writing and addressed to the party entitled to notice at his address set forth in this agreement.
9. ASSIGNMENT
Neither party shall assign their rights and duties foreseen under this Agreement without the prior written consent of the other party.

Source text - English Advertising professionals realize that the heart of any campaign is the product and the position it holds in people's minds. Products and their brand names are newsmakers themselves. Wendy's hamburgers, and California raisins (particularly when they sing and dance) are objects of our attention and interest .
Understanding the complexities of a brand identity and its position is no easy task. A good case in point is the activities of Coca-Cola in the last few years. After a $4 million research project, Coca-Cola brought out a new Coke formula in May 1985 with the intention of retiring the old formula. To everyone's surprise, the intense feelings of American consumers toward old Coke were such that the old formula had to be kept on the market, renamed Coke Classic.
When they first appeared, generics were seen as threats to brand products, particularly for products for which lower price might be a primary criterion for purchase. Although generics enjoyed growth during the recession of the early 1980s, they have now dropped back to their selling level at introduction. In their growth stage, however, the threat they posed to brands stimulated major manufacturers to bring out lower-cost brands that were more competitive with the generics.
One of the most controversial areas of product concepts is the brand extension. A new product gets to share the name of an older, established brand. Today brand extensions occur not only within the company, but companies are licensing their brand names to all kinds of products in the hope of increasing brand awareness. Department stores have whole sections devoted to Coca-Cola clothing.
Market segmentation is the selection of groups of people who will be most receptive to a product. The most frequent methods of segmenting include demographic variables such as age, sex, race, income, occupation, education, household status, and geographic location; psychographic variables such as life-style, activities, interests, and opinions; product use patterns; and product benefits. Much segmentation involves combinations of these methods.
In a related article, "Losing Something in the Translation," we find a marketing situation in which Hispanics were treated as a homogeneous segment. The article asks whether selling Pepsi as a low-caffeine drink will be effective for Hispanics, who here are characterized as less interested in nutritional arguments than are other segments of the U.S. population. Here again the question arises as to whether campaigns can be simply translated to any segment or any nationality in a global marketing strategy, or whether strategies must be specifically designed for particular cultural groups. If it is true that Hispanics are becoming more diverse as their incomes increase, then we might expect the Pepsi campaign to work quite well.
In demographic segmentation the affluent are defined as those with annual incomes of $75,000 or more. Although there are only 3.3 million such households in the United States, their buying power makes them obviously important to many product categories. As can be seen, although these individuals are alike in income, they are quite different in other terms. They are at different stages of life, they have different attitudes toward materialism, and they shop at a variety of retail outlets.

Elderly Patients with dementia-related psychosis treated with atypical antipsychotic drugs are at an increased risk of death compared to placebo. Risperidone is not approved for the treatment of patients with dementia-related psychosis.
The most common adverse reactions observed in all clinical trials with Risperidone occurring at a rate of at least 10% were: somnolence, increased appetite, fatigue, rhinitis, upper respiratory tract infection, vomiting, coughing, urinary incontinence, increased saliva, constipation, fever, tremors, muscle stiffness, abdominal pain, anxiety, nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, rash, restlessness, and indigestion.
