I hold an Upper Second Class Honours degree in Languages with Interpreting and Translating (French/Spanish) MA from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh.

After graduating I was eager to leave Scotland and further my language skills. I spent 3 most wonderful years living and working in Madrid as an in-house translator and latterly as an English teacher.

Since returning to Scotland I now work with both agencies and direct clients specialising in almost anything to do with the oil & gas industry. I seem to have a flair for technical texts and have an extensive glossary directory which is added to almost every working day! An updated glossary does something in my mind which creates immense satisfaction.

I also have 3 years of first-hand experience working in the whisky industry. I can translate nearly everything about the water of life from technical aspects of production, distillation, marketing, tour scripts and brochures for visitor centres.

I mainly work with SDL Trados but am most often happy to work with other server packages.
