Jay Dupre trained as an accountant in 1998 and started work straightaway in a firm in Cardiff. For over ten years he dealt with a wide variety of clients, consisting of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies including plumbers, mechanics, electricians, opticians, farmers, solicitors, clubs, charities and many others. His work includes preparing accounts and tax returns, payroll, audit work including solicitor’s accounts rules, implementing and assisting with accounting and other business systems. Nearly two years ago he set up his own practice in Cowbridge to continue this work and alongside this has been involved in distance-learning tutoring, work experience placements within his office and a local scheme where self employed individuals help school students for a day with a business project which includes them setting up a business, creating a business plan and then presenting it to their class peers.
