Pasta or a sandwich Feb 6

I'd have a proper meal.

I'm one of those people who are always hungry and can out-exercise any intake of calories.

(Although if I was tired I would normally just stop working.)

Nuts Feb 6

Nuts are great, but also deceptively calorific, especially if one eats them with raisins...

If you don't overdo it, nuts are actually supposed to be good for weight management as they contain quite a bit of fiber and keep your blood sugar stable. As I'm veggie, they are a useful source of protein for me. I mostly avoid raisins because they are sugary and stick to your teeth, so are a bit of a risk for tooth decay.

Barley tea or protain-rich Feb 6

Crackers and barley - black sesame tea will do, but usually it is better to replenish some protain-rich food than resorting to refined carbo-hydrates...

It's hard to not overdo it...

I think it's supposed to be good to eat raisins with nuts because the nuts (like raw carrots) help to scrape the sticky bits off your teeth.

I'm always hungry so I eat more like a monkey than a lion, grazing all day and eating very little at actual mealtimes.
I do make sure to have plenty of nutritious snacks available: fruit, home-made wholemeal bread, peanut butter, cashew nut spread and veggie spreads, yoghurt, carrot/cucumber sticks, more fruit, and cake only when I make it myself using organic, whole ingredients.

Avoid sugars! Feb 11

Generally speaking, very sweet options are appalling if you have to keep concentrated later on (believe me, I have ADHD and I have read a lot about this).

It is much better to eat nuts (unprocessed), some protein (ideally fish), natural yogurt, bananas...)
