Yes, I've submitted a support request right after posting the scam here.
It would be great if there was a faster way, e. g. a link on the profile(s) to call the staff's attention to it like we have in KudoZ.

There IS a faster way: all internal mail ends with the following lines:
-----------
Your profile: ..........
Login at: ..........
Edit your profile mail preferences: ..........
Block profile messages from this sender: ..........
Unsolicited advertising? Spam? click here: ..........

(I assume your email was no different)
I, too, received the lovely offer, and in this case the end of the email looked like this:

"Please contact me with my private
email id: ([email protected])
Yours sincerely Miss Fatima Ahmad."

-----------
Your profile: http://www.proz.com/profile/37677
Login at: http://www.proz.com/profile/
Edit your profile mail preferences: http://www.proz.com/?sp=ef&show_mode=profmail
Block profile messages from this sender: http://www.proz.com/?sp=ef&add_ip_block=41.189.33.151&add_email_block=fati_a10@yahoo.com&add_eid_block=1577678
Unsolicited advertising? Spam? click here: http://www.proz.com/?sp=ef&report_spam=7132379

All I had to do was click twice, first on the "Spam?" link, then the "Block" link. Works like magic! : )

Happy Easter to you too!
Ildiko

Thank you both, Ildiko and Enrique.

I wasn't aware of this "quick action" because... I only read the first paragraph, then decided to post it here. Perhaps next time I will read the entire scam mail... time provided.

Best,
Thayenga

Obvious warning sign Apr 9, 2012

I have never received emails of this type via ProZ, but I occasionaly receive them via ordinary email. As soon as I see an email beginning in this style:

Greetings dearest one,

I am writing this letter in confidence believing that if it
is the wish of God for you to help me,...

I know it is some kind of fraud, and I have never replied to them. I consider that every single statement in such an email is probably simply untrue.

Thank you, Oliver, for pointing out that those scam emails usually arrive via ordinary mail.
The signs are clear. I mean, personally I would never address someone unknown to me as "dearest one". This is simply imprudent.

Also, "if it's the wish of God"....well, if it was, then why question it?

Like with this mail, I usually read perfact the first two lines, then delete it, since it's a waste of my time to even read more of it.

And the ProZ moderators are doing their best to keep this site scam-free.
