Chinese term

標體明顯處漆黑色

Chinese to English Other Ships, Sailing, Maritime
"標體明顯處漆黑色"

Any suggestions? Thanks!

- Paint in black the conspicuous place of the mark? (doesn't sound very fluent)

Thanks so much Malcolm! That was a big help!
Malcolm Mayfield Sep 13, 2007:
Thanks. I think the first 標 refers to navigational markers 航標 (buoys, beacons, stakes, etc.). If so, I would say:
"The in-water structure mark (are to be/ shall be) painted in black in a conspicuous location on the body of the (navigational) marker"
Ningning (asker) Sep 12, 2007:
Hi Malcolm,

The whole sentence reads:
標體明顯處漆黑色水中構築物標記; 9.5
Malcolm Mayfield Sep 12, 2007:
Could you provide any more context?

Paint in black the conspicuous parts of the marker. Seems better.
