Dear ProZ members,
I have some doubts about how to translate あわよくば in this context. Two groups are collaborating to find a treasure, but at a certain point a discussion arises. One of the groups accuse the other one saying they just took advantage of them to reach their goals. One of the members of this second group replies:
それはお互い様でしょう?あなただってあわよくばと考えていたはずです
(The same could be said about you, don't you think? I'm sure you were thinking to take advantage of the first chance that comes up too.)
What's the meaning of あわよくば here? Does my translation make sense?
Thank you very much!

if things go well, if there is a chance
If there is a chance (or if things go well for you), you would take advantage of the first chance that comes up too.

if possible
I think "if possible" is good enough.
"You want to to do the same (i.e., to reach the treasure by making use of us) if possible."
