Discussion

philgoddard Jan 20, 2022:
Very tactfully put, Jennifer. In that case "grupo" is a possibility, but there's no way to be sure without asking the person whose name is on the certificate.
Jennifer Levey Jan 20, 2022:
@neilmac I agree entirely. However the point I was making related solely to the apparent requirement to translate from English to English.
Eleanor has clarified that point - and in passing reminded me of the benefits of switching into ‘clairvovant’ mode when visiting the Kudoz page :)
neilmac Jan 20, 2022:
@Jennifer I imagine that Eleanor, like myself, has an enquiring mind, and likes to know what undefined abbreviations that crop up in our translations actually mean. Whether it is a case of “need-to-know” or not, it’s still nice to know what these things stand for.
Eleanor Bargione (asker) Jan 20, 2022:
The screenshot is of my translation so far, plus the as yet untranslated term GPO.
slothm Jan 20, 2022:
? Agree with Jennifer.
Jennifer Levey Jan 20, 2022:
? Although you say the transcript is from Mexico, the table headings are already in English. So why are you trying to translate 'GPO' into ... English?
Eleanor Bargione (asker) Jan 20, 2022:
Thanks for your suggestion, Matt. Here is a screenshot of the table
matt robinson Jan 20, 2022:
Possibility Not much context, but could be abbreviation for "grupo".

group policy object

A web reference explains digital certificates by Group Policy Object (GPO). Certificates can be issued to clients within the information system. The reference below shows procedures used to deploy certificates to multiple computers by using the Active Directory Domain Server and Group Policy Object.

Here's another web reference, suggesting that GPO is 'grupo'.
The other initials that follow are not indicated. Could they be abbreviations for the group names?

In the olden days the GPO was the general post office.
