Bandwith

English Bus/Financial Other Stock Market
Public equity over burn: Where can the additional bandwidth come from?

Dears,
I would appreciate your reflection on the intended meaning of this sentence as it seems ambigious for me.
(Context: Stock Market Forum; this is the title of one of the Forum panel/sessions)

ATIL KAYHAN Dec 17, 2022:
Bandwidth It looks like it is the name of a publicly traded company at NASDAQ.

"Bandwidth is a communications platform as a service company. They sell software application programming interfaces for voice and messaging, using their own IP voice network. Wikipedia"

Then again, bandwidth here is different. It might perhaps mean the vertical fluctuations of a stock price. I am not sure.

If this is the title, what does it say underneath? Your question is difficult to answer without context.

Public equity means that the company's shares are freely traded, and burn is the rate at which it spends cash. Bandwidth typically means leeway, but I don't know what it refers to here.

English term (edited): Where can the additional bandwidth come from?

where could be found some additional sources of cash?

or where could be found s.o. with the capacity to keep pouring cash into the company.

Silly management speak.

The most literal technical meaning of "bandwidth" could be roughly summarised as "transmission capacity".

Here it's about the "capacity" to "transmit money" (=keep pouring cash) into the company, to counterbalance the bleeding of cash through burn or melting of equity.

A company can't keep burning cash to no end. At some point the outflow has to replaced by some inflow.

This would be a discussion forum about finding sources for additional financing, to refill the coffers.

neutral Neil Ashby : Unnatural phrasing "where could be found"?; I wouldn't recommend this either.// Chill out.

this is an explanation so that Asker understands the text, presumably before translating it into Arabic. Rules of the "my-style-is-the-only-correct-one" writing style police are not relevant, as long as Asker gets the meaning of the ST.
neutral Tony M : Sorry,n Daryo, but this really isn't a natural or idiomatic way of expressing this in EN. / A discussion post would be better for that sort of comment.

I can only agree on that, OTOH isn't the point of this exercise to give an explanation, in getting the intended meaning right, not in the beauty of style of some rewording that might be as much puzzling for the Asker? // I missed s.t.?

Bandwith=amount of data

My research pointed out to the tech field only. I don't know the relation of money and an amount of data. It doesn't seem like they are related, but this can be the point. Of course, for sure the content of the lecture/forum would make it clear. See the definitions I found and the links. I hope it helps.

Bandwidth usage refers to a computer network’s capacity to transfer data between devices or over the internet in a specific amount of time. Put simply, bandwidth is the maximum rate of data transfer across any given path.

Bandwidth is the term used to describe the amount of data that can be transmitted over a network in a given period of time. This includes both the amount of data that can be sent in one direction and the amount that can be sent in both directions at the same time.

neutral Daryo : Yes, that's the literal technical meaning - that happens to make NO SENSE WHATSOEVER in this text - except as **only a starting point** to understand what the author really meant when using this silly "management speak".
