I was searching for a Finnish term that meant at home or home away from home and was given "olaan kotona." I know that kotona means at home, but what does "olaan" give to the phrase?

I am not going to suggest another translation. Just an idea. "Ollaan kotona" would work as a name for a B & B, but I think "Ollaan kuin kotona" would work even better.
"Ole kuin kotonasi" means "make yourself at home" (actually another good name for a business). When you say of someone else that he is "kuin kotonaan", you can hear a slight reprimand in that statement, which is why I think it would be a very good name for a business entity: in this B & B you can do the things you would do at home.
But what do I know? My Proz slogan is "almost everything under the sun"!
P.S. "Ollaan kotona" reminds me of an old TV programme called "Tänään kotona" (today at home), which consisted of some homemaking ideas. (Another minus point perhaps.)

The phrase "ollaan kotona" could be used as the name of a business entity but it may be too nondescript a phrase to be associated with a Bed & Breakfast. You need something that draws customers, such as "Havumaja"
