I find it hard to believe that a master carpenter would produce construction-type woodwork. He may be talking about wooden frames vs tables and chairs.

I'm afraid "household" is not a fancy enough qualifier, and probably should be replaced with "designer," which was suggested earlier.

In the old days these "household" craftsmen were called cabinetmakers. Now they are known as the "artists" who build "furniture" or, as the Italians call it, "interiors."

Really was not trying to be dismissive of carpentry artists. Just tried to highlight terms by putting them between quotes. And am really not sure about the two terms in Hebrew and what they stand for.

: Household carpentry is not נגרות אומן. Designer carpentry is not just a fancy name. It means furniture made according to customer specifications, in contrast to mass produced stuff. Think IKEA vs April

applies to windows/doors, and
נגרות חרש
to roofs, floors, pergolas - which are indeed structural elements
