This is the name of an orphanage in Brasov, Romania. I understand that it means or comes from words that mean "clearing in the woods." Would appreciate confirmation and further explanation of the parts of speech. We do not want to change the name, we just want to be able to explain it confidently and well in English.

well, sunny glade wouldn't be the same, then sunny is "insorit" n Romanian, whereas Soarelui is a typical Romanian structure, which tries to personalize things. In this case, the glade belongs to the sun, something along that line, anyway.

Comment: "Thank you very much. This is exactly the independent confirmation I was hoping for. Thank you also for the further suggestions and explanations about the difference between "of the sun" and "sunny." My colleague and I had been thinking about using the shorter form, which is what prompted my query here. We are translating some texts in German about this children's village (modeled on the SOS Kinderdoefer, but not part of the SOS group) to attract more sponsors and donors.
