Spanish term
contractilidad hipokinesia segmentaria inferior y lateral baja hacia la punta
Spanish to English
Medical
Medical: Cardiology
Echocardiogram
I realize this exceeds the 9-word question limit, but grammatically it does appear to be all one term:
"Se observa ventriculo izquierdo ligeremenete aumentado en tamaño no se observan disminucion en ***crontactilidad hipokinesia segmentaria inferior y lateral baja hacia la punta***, no se observan segmentos adelgazados o aumento de la refringencia."
As you can see, the text is very poorly drafted, with plenty of typos and insufficient/erroneous punctuation, so perhaps I'm parsing this wrong and it should instead be "no se observan disminucion en crontactilidad [o?] hipokinesia segmentaria inferior y lateral baja hacia la punta".
From what purports to be an 'ecocardiogrma [sic] modo M, "D, TDI y Doppler pulsado color y codificacion en color' (?!) performed in a Mexican private clinic.
Any informed comments will be much appreciated.

Comma is missing!> No evidence of reduced [global] LV contractility, but there is hypokinesia...
...in the inferior and lateral segments towards the apical aspect (or apex).
In essence, you are missing a comma (or semicolon) between "contractilidad" and "hipokinesia".
I other words, there is no global left-ventricular contractility issue, but there IS segmental hypokinesia in the specified locations...
Hope I cleared it up for you.

Yes, it is plural, but it does not make sense medically.

...contractility reduction [is] observed. Mild lower and lateral segmentary hypokinesia towards tip
Going by the actual text, a rough translation could be:
Left ventricle slightly enlarged, no contractility reduction [is] observed. Mild lower and, lateral segmentary hypokinesia towards the tip (towards the bottom area of the heart?)
I also agree that the original text is poorly written, so there is a lot of guesswork involved.
In broad terms, it seems the providers find the patient's left ventricle slightly enlarged, however, the heart's capacity to contract is not being affected. In addition, they seem to observe slow movements of the heart (Hypokinesia) towards the (presumably) bottom and lateral area of the heart, following a downward trajectory (located towards the bottom end of the heart)
Hope this helps, at least somewhat.

if there isn't any segmental hypokinesis, then surely they wouldn't mention "baja"
could there be something missing?

hi,
I think I have confused myself here!
forget low ejection fraction
there is a "pared lateral baja" of the LV, so they must mean this.

Discussion
I also want to thank everyone who contributed to this question, and apologise for disappearing until now. I don't know what's happening with the site notifications as I received no notifications of updates to this question until a couple of days ago when I was asked to rate the answers. I had initially checked back myself shortly after posting it and saw Gabriel's response, but I had no other notifications about the question.
I am afraid I am just guessing though.
