I am thoroughly confused, this question is about cases when I would hire a colleague to accept/share the load, for which a third party is supposed to pay me? This is how I distinguish between outsource and recommend. Am I the only one who believe that these are two different animals?
If so, my answer is No.

I did it once. I told the colleague I wasn't supposed to do it, but I knew she needed the money. The work that came back took me a lot of time to review. She was incensed by my changes (mostly omissions on her part) and went straight to my client. I lost my client because I had broken my contract.
