Thank you for the information Zea, I didn't receive any such message from Proz. This probably adds to the multitude of bugs that's been pestering the site for quite some time now.

However, I'm looking for specific and accessible information about the annual conference.

I just sent a support ticket since nobody took the time to reply so far. I also see that there's no moderator assigned to this forum, which might affect the response time.
Hopefully we'll hear from them.

I was searching for the conference page and it seems it had been removed for a while. But could have been a bug, it's been fixed just now:

I thought it strange since I had registered for the event...
