Discussion

Edward Plaisance Jr Apr 22, 2011:
back office See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Back_office for a good description and derivation of the term.

The referenced definition for دفتر پشتبانی is good for the situation described.

However, this term "support office" in English is very often a "front office". For example, most computer and software companies have support offices, usually in India, for customers to call when they have problems. This would not be considered a "back office".

I am at a loss for how to translate "back office" simply in Persian so that it will be understood. Anyone have any good ideas?

Thank you!
neutral Edward Plaisance Jr : The translation here is probably OK for the examples...but I see a problem with the more common use of "support office"...see the Discussion section

Thank you, maybe اداره داخلی could be a better option. Webster defines it as "of or relating to the inner workings of a business or institution : INTERNAL ".
