Discussion

Mark Robertson Dec 3, 2011:
In EN-GB the equivalent term for citação is "service of proceedings", i.e. to commence proceedings. Service is also the equivalent term for notificação, i.e. service of documents during proceedings.

Process not served

This means that the Bailiff was unable to serve process on the defendant. PF means "individual" and PJ means "legal entity". Then, Citação Negativa PF/PJ means that an individual and a legal entity could not be served process, for whatever reason.

Obrigado, Martin.
agree Ivan Rocha, CT : I would just substitute "process" for "lawsuit".

Thanks, Ivan. However, I have never seen the expression "service of lawsuit" in English. As far as I know, the classic "legalese" for "citação" is "service of process", and as the verbal form I know "to serve process on somebody".
