It's a way of referring to what they've written about previously. Here's the document

Note that there should be a comma after Case 1, and I would capitalise Case too.

It seems that "case 1" has already been explained/ described/ stated above. Another case is probably auto-scoring turned on as compared to - the above - not turned on.
