Primary one-year postgraduate training: it is a Primary Specialization, and it is called ''Internship''. Now we come to ''Subinternship''

The Subinternship is comprised of two one-month clinical experiences between July and April of the senior year. All students will have one inpatient (floor) rotation and one intensive care (unit) rotation. The two rotations will not be scheduled during contiguous months. Floor rotations will occur at Foster G. McGaw Hospital (LUMC), Edward Hines Jr. Department of Veterans Affairs Hospital (HVA), MacNeal Hospital (MAC), or West Suburban Hospital (WS). Unit rotations will occur at LUMC, HVA, WS, and Resurrection Hospital (RES). Hospital and service assignments have been compiled for the entire year (see below). Students will receive a grade for each rotation.

Beginning with the Class of 1999, all students during their fourth year are required to perform a 4-week sub- internship. Sub-internships can be done only by 4th year students.
The sub-internship experience is intended to give students a more advanced level of direct patient care responsibility, greater than that required during a third- year or fourth-year clerkship or elective, and comparable to the level of clinical responsibility assumed by an intern (although often with less pressure and volume). The key concept is that the student assumes direct responsibility for management of patient care, reporting directly to a resident and attending physician, assuming the place or responsibilities of an intern.

t is a practicum, which is translated as تدريب عملي, but it is at the same time a clinical practicum, which is translated as تدريب عملي سريري. You can add or delete the word ''عملي'' as you like without much affecting the meaning. However, I would translate it as تدريب عملي سريري to avoid confusion in comparison with the one that is postgraduate ''clinical residency''
