18. ‒ 24. March was the Estonian Poisoning Prevention Week, which focuses 2019:
- on the proper use of activated charcoal+first aid
- the safety of acetic acid/vinegar
- the safety of batteries.

The idea came from North America, which actually holds a poison prevention week every 3rd week on March, 1962: https://www.aapcc.org/prevention/nppw/
It is possible to draw attention to accidental poisonings, to discuss about causes of accidents, „hijack media“.
Special attention to our Russian-speaking people.

To reduce the health risks associated with the use of 30% acetic acid in cooking, house cleaning etc, reduce the cost of treatment for caustic damage we started in previous months cooperation with Ministry of Rural Affairs,Veterinary and Food Board and negoitiations with trading companies
We agreed on national rules for the marketing of vinegar, in particular on the labeling of packaging and the distinction between packaging. We hope to have a result in the future where we do not have 30% vinegar on sale, just like our neighbors
We have warned people before every major holiday: avoid using acetic acid (30%) and if possible – use at homes 10% vinegar
