Spanish term

auxilio para alimentación

Spanish to English Social Sciences Human Resources
This is from a text describing how the population of Foz de Iguazú grew with the construction of the Itaipú dam. This is one of the benefits that attracted workers. "nutritional bonus"??

food allowance /stipend

Given the context it's like a bonus but the most common word would be allowance or stipend.
Peer comment(s):

agree philgoddard : Stipend sounds slightly antiquated - I think allowance is better.

ome companies just provide free tea and coffee.

Some provide treats, fruit, snacks and drinks.

Some provide cheap canteens.

Some provide free food.

Some provide food vouchers so you can buy your own meals.

In all these cases they are providing a subsidy to reduce the cost to you as an employee. In the UK I don't know if this has a tax implication as a 'benefit in kind' which may give rise to an additional tax liability like the provision of a company car.

"auxilios para estudios para los hijos" could be "child schooling subsidies/support"
Peer comment(s):

agree patinba : In the case of construction workes, this is best. Food allowance sounds more what you would grant to an executive on a business trip.

subsidized food

"Wages in the region were quite high compared to the labour market in other cities, which attracted a large number of people to the region, who'd moved away from different parts of Brazil. In the field of construction, workers relied on insurance cover against risks, subsidized food, subsidies (grants) to cover student accommodation for grown children, holidays included (covered) with health care."
