Non credo che si debba tradurre la frase in senso letterale ("in quanto è un'operazione difficile per i suini pesanti"); dato il contesto, a me sembra piuttosto che si intenda dire "[il mozzamento della coda sarebbe inevitabile nei sistemi italiani esistenti,] poiché altrimenti sarebbe ardua la produzione dei suini pesanti", oppure "rendendo altrimenti ardua la produzione dei suini pesanti"), ma non ne sono affatto sicuro:

Grazie :-) Non è per caso che quell' "as" vada inteso nel senso di "benché, nonostante"? Cfr. http://www.wordreference.com/enit/as (una delle accezioni è infatti "per quanto, nonostante, sebbene" e sembrerebbe adattarsi alla logica del periodo in questione.) |
